Spotlight: Herschel Supply Co.

How do you carry around you things, once you’ve finished school?  A regular Jansport backpack won’t do and most of us are too young for a leather briefcase. Well you find a company that has created upscale, reasonably priced bags.  Herschel Supply Co. has created youthful bags for those looking to class it up a bit. I chose three different styles of bag, because not everyone like the old fashioned backpack. Check out the bags after the break.

novel

The Novel

The Novel is the modern mans’ gym bag.  This is the type of gym bag you would feel confident walking the street to the gym.  The Novel has a compartment to separate your shoes from everything else in your bag that can ruin a nice pair of kicks.  This is a huge selling point when I look for a bag; everyone has had an experience with spilling something on their shoes or clothes.  Usually it doesn’t ruin the stuff but who wants to go through that experience, more than once.

Zippo

The Zippo

The Zippo is an outdoor style bag for the urban jungle.  Named because the lid flips up just like the lighter it was named after.  This would be a good bag for someone who is always traveling but doesn’t want to lug around a huge suitcase. Also if you want to do some hiking this bag is durable enough to take with you on your next camping trip.

heritage

The Heritage

The Heritage is the backpack style you should be using to bring your stuff to and from work.  Not ready for a briefcase this is your solution.  Even GQ suggests a backpack like this for the more youthful business crowd.  Not everyone is wearing suits to the office these days, so why would you want to carry a briefcase around.  You certainly don’t want to carry around a bag that screams I want be a kid again. The Heritage would even be a great bag for someone in college; it has that prep school/ivy league feel.

Herschel Supply Co. has taken personal luggage to a whole new level.  What is more popular right now then the combination of nylon and leather? Herschel is everything is right about personal luggage and I just started learning about them, but they have already got my attention. Keep it going guys and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
