AG is one of those brands I have seen in the denim sections for a while but just haven’t ever tried them on. I don’t know why I haven’t, the jeans have a great look. There is something about buying jeans from a company who primarily deals in jeans. I just believe they take a little more time and energy on making their jeans the best. Let’s check out some of the picks after the break.
The Protégé Straight
I have said this before, Straight Jeans are the next evolution in denim. I see the current trend turning back to the 90’s. Hair style, certain brands and the jean styles are switching. So get started right now with the AG Protégé Straight. These are the 15 year double aged wash with 18 at the knee and 18 at the bottom opening. They are your standard straight leg jean with a medium to light wash and a little whiskering/distressing. Straight leg jeans tend to look better in a lighter wash and orange stitching . This is the jean to wear if you want to get a jump on the current trend.
The Matchbook Slim Straight in Jack
I know I just blogged about the Matchstick, but these are special. I picked this wash because it shares the same name with my dog Jack. Also it’s a great super dark wash slim jean. The perfect jean right now. This slim is pretty standard; with 16.5 at the knee and 15 at the bottom opening. This fit has 98% cotton and 2% stretch. This seems great, but I have dealt with many jeans with 2% and they tend to have less stretch then those with 1% stretch. I love dark jeans, but the next pair is more my style; even though these jeans share the same name as my dog.
The Geffen AG-ed Slouchy Slim
I have recently become a huge fan of slouchy fit jeans. I know I trashed a pair, but there is no way I can trash a jean as good looking as these. They are perfectly aged 1 year dark jeans with great contrasting orange stitching. The Geffen Slouch has a 17.5 knee opening and slims down to 16 inches at the bottom. Everything on this jean seems to work; the white patch and the light colored back pocket design. Look how good they look cuffed. This is the perfect jean, dark and vintage looking.
I know that AG is very pricey as far as jeans go, but you are spending the money on the quality. If you’re like me, someone who goes through jeans almost every year, than you want a jean that will have some resale value. I said it before, you should always buy denim from clothing companies who primarily sell denim. What do you think of AG? Is this landing on your wish list?
