Nike SB Dunk Freddy Krueger - Horror Pack

Have you ever wanted to dress like Freddy Krueger and stalk people in your neighborhood? Have you ever wanted to do this all year round and not feel weird? Then maybe this blog isn't for you and you should turn yourself in to the police. If you love Freddy and Nike SB, then please read on. Let me introduce the Nike SB Freddy Krueger Dunks. Released a couple years ago featuring 3 shoes from groundbreaking horror films. "A Nightmare on Elm Street" was one of the scariest movies of the 80's and introduced us to child killer Freddy Krueger. He was is one of the most recognized face and sweaters in horror movies, next to Jason. Now Nike immortalized his legacy in a shoe and a Nike SB to be exact. The shoe is tan with the red and green stripe of Freddy's Signature sweater. The shoe is covered in blood splatter; which makes it look like you were standing way to close to one of Freddy's victims. The insole features Freddy's fire burnt face which look awesome and really stands out. I just love the look of these shoes and could were these throughout October.

I have found these using Google search and you can pick up a pair for around $80. If you are a horror fan or and SB fan, you need to pick these up. Just the attention of detail alone is worth that much money. Unless your afraid that having these shoes in your room might end up costing you your life? I guess that the risk you assume being an avid sneakerhead; and remember 1-2 Freddy's coming for you, 3-4 you better lock your doors, 5-6 get your crucifix, 7-8 better stay up late and 9-10 never sleep again!!! Happy Halloween!

EA Sports x NIke Air Trainer 1.2 "Tim Tebow"

Today we celebrate the Florida Gators vs. Georgia Bulldogs game with a gator shoe blog. Are you a diehard gator fan? Were you lucky enough to attend school with Tebow? I was! I witnessed the greatness and all the crying (passion.) If you want to honor your time at UF or you are just a true gator fan; then you need to find these sneaks. I say find them, because only 506 were made by Nike and they instantly sold out. I should now because I tried staying up and picking these up, but they weren't released until 2 a.m. and when I woke up a 7 the shoe was sold out. eBay seems to have the majority of the sneakers and they won't let them go for cheap. They can usually be found for $250-$350; which seems reasonable, for limited editions, but the shoes brand new only cost $100 dollars. On to the shoe itself, it's a 2010 Nike Air Trainer 1.2. That is the new trainer from Nike with Flywire (lightweight thread) and a mid top shoe design. They are a great shoe for training or working out in the gym, but I don't think you would want to wear these out. The colors are Florida Gator colors, the majority of the shoe is blue with some really nice orange accents; the details really make this a nice shoe. The heel of the right shoe has the word "Promise" and the date of the famous promise speech; also inside the same shoe is the whole promise speech. The heel of the left shoe hast the SEC championships won and the 2 national titles won. On the front of both shoes is a velcro strap with "NCAA 2011" in green; the shoe is a collab for the EA sports game. Finally the EA logo is on each tongue. I'm not saying the shoe is for everyone, but any Gators fan would die to have these in their possession. So start saving your pennies and try and find the best deals on eBay; I know I am going to soon. Go Gators!!

WeSC The Marwin Jean in Crafted Selvage

So I am going to predict the future now. Straight leg non-slim jeans are going to be the dominant denim in a few years. I know it's hard to believe a word without skinny or slim jeans but every trend will end and the retail stores will be focusing on straight leg jeans. So be the trend starter and grab some great looking jeans. Start with the WeSC Marwin jeans; a jean that is a little looser than the WeSC slim jeans and not too baggy. You know the kind of jeans I am talking about those jeans that look like the don't fit or have no style. You can still wear a comfortable jean and look good at the same time. The Marwin crafted selvage is a medium wash with just the right amount of distressing and destruction. Worn in jeans can be a great look but I your underwear is hanging out or people are seeing more leg than they should, it's time to get another pair. The bottom opening is 17 inches and 19 at the knee; they still won't cover your shoe but they have a more relaxed feel. They also have 2% elastine like the skinny and slim jeans, this will provide maximum comfort. Pair these with a nice tee and some good sneaks, probably white.

The future is upon us and why wait until everyone else is wearing these, be the trendsetter. You can pick these up at Karmaloop.com with the usual rep code: jcam1981 for 20% off. Don't wait, but if you do wear these with the Nike Air Mag (see Back to the Future blog.) Good luck and see you in the future.

WeSC The Slim in Raw Black Stretch Selvage

It's a long name but a beautiful looking jean. In the past, I have had no luck finding a good pair of black jeans; these jeans look like I might have found a winner. I know in the last post I didn't cover the finer details of these jeans. They have great details; yellow leather patch with a button fly jeans (I'm sure if they all are.) The organic slims I own have wooden buttons on the waist and fly and the back pocket stitching that looks like WeSC in sloppy cursive; all the details are unique and stand out. People will never mistake your jeans for some other inferior pair of denim. The slim jeans have a 16 inch bottom opening, not a tight as the Alessandro and not as loose as the straight leg jeans. As far as slim jeans go these have the best fit; slim jeans can either be too loose or too tight. The WeSC slim just gives you a nice lean leg look and still has room enough for those guys who aren't quite ready for skinny jeans. One thing to remember about raw denim or really dark jeans, they will stain clothing, furniture and walls blue. This is a perfect jean to wear on a date or even pair with a blazer; they have the quality of most dress pants and the look or most modern suit pants. If you are going casual make sure and cuff the bottom of the pants on the darker jeans, it will really make them pop.

These jeans retail for 160, but other styles may be cheaper. Most retail for around $90-$100 dollars, but there are always good deals so do you're research and look for the best deals. Otherwise, you can find a lot of WeSC on Karmaloop.com and remember to use rep code: jcam1981 for 20% off your first purchase. Join the Conspiracy and The "Thread!"

WeSC The Alessandro in Authetic Stretch

Today is WeSC denim day! WeSC stands for We Are The Superlative Conspiracy, a Swedish clothing brand with roots in skateboarding and no focusing mainly on fashion. WeSC is one of brands with initials, like RVCA, that many people always mispronounce; Say it with me now "We-S-C." WeSC is one of Swedens most popular clothing brands and is making a big statement is America. The brand is endorsed by celebs like Jason Lee and Peter Stormare (the russian is "Armageddon.") The first jean I wanna talk about is The Alessandro in Authentic Stretch, this is WeSC's skinny jean; it has a 13 inch bottom opening with a pretty tight leg fit, the advantage is the denim has 2% elastine for that real comfortable tight fit. I have yet to purchase but I have tried these on and my friend Jimbo has 2 pairs and absolutely raves about these I talk to him. WeSC is known for quality in all things they make, so these jeans with last you for while. Quality and durability is what everyone should be looking for in denim and clothes; nothing makes you feel better that propley fit and comfortable shirts; who wants to walk around in a cheap, rough feeling shirt, not me and you shouldn't settle either.

These jeans can be found in a few websites, but the best deal in once again Karmaloop.com; remember to use rep code "jcam1981" for 20% off. WeSC is one of those brands that everyone should know about and check out. Everything they seem to come out with is cutting edge and just plain cool. Right now fashion is about being subtle, but still having good style; clothes don't have to be covered in dragons and sparkles to be cool. Be colorful, be happy and be part of the conspiracy.

Wednesday Rant - Size Charts

Wednesday will be the official day to Rant and Rave. Today's is about size charts on website. I am in avid online shopper, partly because most of the brands and stores, I like, are not in my general location. As an online shopper I often look for the best deals and website that are easy to navigate; the main reason I online shop is because I can look a many different items and stores in less than an hour. Online shopping has grown leaps and bounds, it has become super easy with some website. You can discover new brands that you are usually not exposed too. This all sounds great and you're probably asking so what's the problem; well since I use online shopping to discover new brands, I can't always tell how things are going to fit. Most people would say that's the price you pay for shopping online. I say that's crap and more stores should provide individual measurements. Some great websites have chest and length measurements, which are very helpful and these are the stores I usually shop at more often. Denim doesn't usually have these measurements that I would like to see; mostly waist and thigh. You might think, wait the waist is displayed when you purchase denim; true but some brands use vanity sizing and some brands also run smaller. Websites need to individually measure each item and list if this item is true to size, runs bigger or runs smaller.

Let's face it, it's impossible to try things on, that's an advantage of shopping in stores. Websites are trying to fix this but it's not a lot of them and some are small steps. Some website have used feedback to tell how items fit by people who have purchased the item. This is good but new items aren't usually reviewed for a few weeks and the reviewed don't really leave a detailed message. eBay sellers have been known to post measurements, but eBay has a lot of fake items and if you aren't skilled in spotting fakes you can get burned. For tees you should check 80stees.com, they measure all the tees and post both chest and length. We shouldn't just accept that online shopping is flawed. Get on the website and hit the "contact us" link and send them an email letting them know what you want. If enough people send email the stores will start to take notice and hopefully make changes for the good. Here's to a day when online shopping is just like shopping in a brick and mortar store.

*BONUS* Back To The Future Shoe Blog

Today is the 25th Anniversary of my favorite trilogy, Back to the Future Trilogy. In honor, I thought I would talk about the Nike used in the movies, or as they were called (in part 3) Nee Kay. First up is part one shoes. Marty is seen throughout most of the film wearing Nike Bruins in white with red accents. These are classic Nikes used for skateboarding and are still part of the Nike SB line. These shoes are very simple, but man do they pop, the bright red on the basic white really looks good with medium was jeans. These are very hard to find in this color, in my size, but I have found an alternative. The Nike All Court Low in, you guessed it, white and red. The difference being the have the traditional orange Nike name and swoosh on the tongue. This feature really makes we want the shoe even more than the original. Now on to the Future!!

This is the one everyone has been waiting for, literally. 1989, Back to the Future Part 2 came out and everyone got a glimpse into our future. Taking place in 2015, we saw flying cars, hoverboards and a powering lace Nike. That blew mine and every others kids' mine. I could wait for 2015 to get here so I could have a pair of power lacing shoes. There actually name the Nike Air Mag and were only special made for the film, they were recently sold in an auction and are valued from $12,000 to $15,000 (cheap). These are most likely the one of rarest Nike shoes you could ever own. If, like me, you can't drop that cash you can try and find the Nike Hypermax Marty Mcfly; which look surprisingly like the shoes from the movie. You can pick these up for a fraction of the price, $750 to $850 (still not cheap). That's only if you can find a pair and the moon and stars have aligned, but I am sure the world would just end at that point. So good luck surviving to wear these shoes. I am just gonna wait 5 years until the real Nike Air Mags drop, until then I always have the trilogy to watch and drool. To be Continued...or Concluded or whatever it says in the credits.

Nike Pepper Low

These are new release for Nike. The Nike Pepper Low in rustic, a very intriguing shoe. I haven't tried these on yet or seen them in person, but they made quite the impression. They look like the kind of shoe Holden Caulfield would have worn in "Catcher in the Rye." I imagine if I put these on I would instantly be transported to an ivy league school, walking around in fall with colored leaves crunching under my feet. The have the look of the sweet canvas low or any of the low classic tennis shoes, with a polished leather finish. Hopefully they fit like the canvas lows, because those are some comfortable shoes. Since I haven't tried these on or bought them yet, I really can't tell you much; I will say that they would look really good with medium or dark jeans, with a slight roll. A herringbone blazer or jacket would really make these pop, accompanied with a red plaid button up. These are the kind of shoes you really wanna dress nice in, but you could always wear a simple tee as long it was the right color. I will tell you more once I have picked these up. So far they only place I have seen these available in this color is Nike.com, for 70 dollars plus shipping. Until next time.

Nike Terminator High Selvage Denim

Yet, another one of my prized possessions in sneakerdom. The Nike Terminator High Selvage Denim; designed to look like a prized of Levi's jeans. The color of denim ranges from dark to almost raw denim and they even have a white Nike tag, made to resemble a red Levi's tag. I received these last year for Christmas, a gift from my fiance's parents, and I rarely wear these shoes. They have all the accents of a pair of jeans; brown leather tag on the tongue, just like you would find on the back of any pair of jeans. The laces are navy and the accents are red and white, mostly inside the show. These are amazing in person and no pictures do them justice. Along with quality and looks, these shoes are very comfortable. You can wear the all day long with out them hurting your feet or digging into your ankle area. This is a problem I have with many of my high tops, they cut into the back of your legs and rub all day long; this even happens when I am wearing higher socks. The reason they don't have this issue is because they are heavily padded all around. In fact these have the most padding in any of my high top sneaks.

Bottom line if you love denim and you love shoes, you shouldn't hesitate to pick these up. Best way to find them is Google the name of the shoe and check the shopping tab for the best day. I bought mine from Nike.com, but sadly they are not available anymore. Match these up with dark to raw denim; think of them as jean jacket and try not to match the exact denim color. Also try to wear a plain tee or white shirt to really put the emphasize on the shoes, not that people will be able to take their eyes off the shoes.

Nike Air Max 95 Varsity Grape

It's Nike Day!! Everyone has their "Holy Grail" of sneakers, this shoe is my the "Top 10!" The Air Max 95 was one of the most popular shoes when is dropped, and continues to be now that they are re releasing the sneakers. The sneakers feature front and back air sacs and the design is based on the human spine and material like human skin. The lines and the placement of the air sacs just make this shoe look so stream line; like if your were to put it on and be able to run faster then you ever had before. My favorite color is the Varsity Grape/Gray/Charcoal, because Nike is subtle with the Grape color; only the tongue and small check use this color. Now don't get me wrong, I love the color purple, and wear it quite frequently. I just don't like when purple dominates the shoe, just like an all pink guys shoe. The main color gray start light at the bottom and each level gets a little darker, until you reach the top layer of charcoal. The best comparison is to a supercar; this shoe is the Lamborghini Murcielago of Air Max. It's sleek and sexy and turns heads as you pass people; you will always get compliments and sneaker heads will take about these shoes, with you, for days.

The fit is one of Nike's finest, it's a very comfortable running shoe with support and lots of cushion. Most people don't even use these as running shoes anymore, considering how amazing the air max 2010 looks, these shoes are just stylish shoe now. Retailing for $145 dollars and these happen to be a highly faked shoe; so be careful when you search for the best deal. These are on sale at Finishline for around $120. If you want a running shoe go buy the lunar series and you can wear these on the way home from the gym.

Hurley 84 Denim

I was first introduced to Hurley denim last year and it was some basic styles, but surprisingly comfortable. I just thought, "hey these aren't high end denim, how good can they be." Well I will tell you, they are up there with the Diesels and Nudie Jeans. They don't cost anywhere in that range, though. I tried on the raw (or close to raw) denim, named dirty dark indigo and the jeans are a slim fit borderline entry level skinny. It's all in the simple details, no crazy fading or holes; just good old dark, stains your whites, denim. There are 11 colors on the Hurley website, ranging from your basics to gray; the one that caught my eye was the greasy. I love any jeans that have been rubbed in dirt or stained with oil or grease; as long as it not over the top or weird. The greasy is a raw denim with a light glossy sheen, with hints of dirt and grime. All the jeans have the standard one blue rivet and very little leather or hardware. The one thing I am not sold on is no back pocket stitching, I am like a little back pocket design; I am not talking about Ed Hardy tiger riding a dragon, pissing fire, just something small and simple.

The fit is your standard slim fit, 16 inch bottom opening with a slim thigh, straight through the knee. Slim jeans are a great transition jeans for guys who can't handle skinny jeans, but are ready to move on from loose jeans. They look great dressed up with blazer and button up or with a simple tee (I recommend the Norman tee, see previous blog). Basically you significant other will love the look of your but in these jeans. All you guys who work out can stop complaining about "all those skinny jeans," and not look like you borrowed your fathers jeans. Do yourself a favor and get these jeans, you will thank me (once you're following me).

Hurley Norman Tees

This is my absolute favorite v-neck/crew neck tee. They are your standard pocket tee, but they come in a wide variety colors. Most standard tees, today, are just getting crazy. Companies are adding graphic and making them more translucent. Hurley has brought it back to the original, old school feel and look. Sometimes standard tees can be can be too basic and look cheap, the Norman walks the fence between high fashion and a Hanes 3-pack (closer towards high fashion). You can wear the tee dressed up or down. Let's get something straight, I am a graphic tee guy all day long; The Norman tee is the only standard shirt I will wear as a fashion piece and I wouldn't treat this like a hanes tee (gym tee). The best part about the Norman is it's a tri-blend tee (three types of fabric) putting these in the supersoft category; being a tri-blend the tee has a lot of stretch, but also runs a little small so you may want to size up.

If you aren't used to wearing v-neck or crew tees as regular tops, start with your more basic colors; white, gray, and dark gray. Once you become a seasoned veteran, move on to the mint greens, light oranges and my favorite heather red (amazing). The only place to get these wonderful creations is Pac Sun, again. This years crop were far superior to to last years tees. Put them with denim or dress pants, either way they look amazing. The best deal is at Pac Sun usually they are on the deal 2 for $15, but wait for the buy 3 get one free deal, in my opinion. Be a minimalistic and get some Norman tees in your life.

Hurley Rubbish Peacoat

I know what your saying, everyone makes a pea coat. What makes this one special? Tell you the truth, this isn't special. It's just your classic cotton pea coat, but I fits like a denim and isn't too thick. (which is good for the hot Florida autumn) Pea coat are usually wool and heavy; used by the Navy to keep sailors worn, plus it matches their dungarees and work shirts. Ask anyone about the pea coat and they will reference the Navy. Pea coats have been a fashion staple for the better part of 3 decades, but now they are getting making a youthful presence. The coats are coming in all lengths and colors. Girls, guys and dogs can be seen strutting their stuff down the sidewalk. The Hurley Rubbish Coat is my all time favorite. A coat that most fashion experts would probably pass up or even scoff because it's not a true pea coat. This may be true, but I don't care. Florida weather does not allow us to wear our heavy coats that often and it's a lot more comfortable then most wool. The coat has a bounce and stretch, it's more lightweight and super soft to the touch. Plus, the hood is removable; this is in case you get caught in the snow or rain, just pull it out and two buttons later it's good to go.

The coat still has the double breasted buttons, like a standard pea coat. It also coming in a great light gray color, which seems to be a very popular choice this year. I almost like the gray a little more, but I am nostalgic and went with the black. I did buy mine last year, but they didn't change the coat at all. So run to your local Pac Sun (exclusively there) and get yours know; because I guarantee it will sell out before the real cold weather hits. It retails for around 90 dollars and it's already sold out on Pacsun.com. So why are you still sitting here, go now and embrace the winter weather in style!

The Tour de Obey Tri-Blend Tee

The Tri-Blend line of tees! The tee so soft you don't even feel like you are wearing anything at all. The tee is made of 50% polyester, 25% cotton and 25% rayon, this creates a stretchy, lightweight, super soft tee experience. Most company are making their shirts in this magical blend and more guys are switching from 100% cotton to the blends. Why, you ask? Why not? Let's look at the facts; 100% cotton shrinks when you first wash and dry it, so you have to size up and they never fit right. Tri-blends don't shrink and drape better and are just a better fit; especially for guys who have a bigger build. Obey has a large collection of tri-blend tees and the most creative graphic designs.

The Tour de Obey is no exception! Bikers in hoods with expressionless faces are facing to the death in 1989. The shirt is white and gray, with just enough ride to make the shirt pop. Pair this with super dark or black jeans and the town for Halloween, and scare the shit out of everyone. This tee is going to The Abyss (my closet) very soon. Again Karmaloop with "jcam1981" rep code to receive 20%off and check out their extensive collection of Obey.

Next it's Hurley Day tomorrow stay up to date!!

Obey Adopt A Pet Basic Tee

Obey have a great awareness collection. Basically the collection supports many different organization, using tee shirts to raise awareness for a great cause. This one that touches me personally because my fiance and I adopted a wonderful puppy from the Humane Society. All the profits from the sale of any Obey Awareness products are donated to the cause. Adopt-A-Pet.com is the represented charity, they help find homes for homeless pets. Obey has combined fashion with social awareness, which is a wonderful idea.

The tee is the basic line, like the IPA shirt, but this does have a softer feel them most of the basic tee. I purchased the black version, which doesn't work well with my all white dog. I think the black make the red and yellow dog portrait pop more then the white, but you can be the judge. This one can be ordered directly from obeygiant.com or Google the name and use Google shopping to find the best deal. If you like fashion and charity; combined on tee shirts then check out Obey Awareness and help the cause.

Obey IPA Basic Tee

So today on The Thread, it's OBEY DAY!!! Those who know me, know I love the brand Obey. They pound for pound have the best line of tee shirts, in my opinion. The newest shirt to be added to my collection, mostly dominated by Obey already, is the IPA basic tee. Designed to resemble your favorite craft beer label. Twin elephants with crossed trunks are the stand out graphics, accompanied by the traditional obey giant star and a small scimitar at the bottom. This is the basic level of Obey, which means soft but has a little weight to the shirt. Obey is well known for their tri blend shirt line. (coming soon)

The IPA does come in the tri blend fit, in tomato (red) and and gray; you can add $8 to the total for the softer version. I happen to the the natural tee with the green IPA graphic, you can pair them with pretty much all colors of denim. The best deal I found was again Karmaloop, remember to use rep code jcam1981 for 20% off. Basically you can't go wrong with Obey when looking for great tees, look no further them Obey.

Levi's Cords

When you think Americana, you think Levi's. You may know them for the classic 501 jean and classic jean jackets. They have expanded their fits to all ranges, to please all customer looking for a great fit. With the rise is slimmer jeans Levis has answered with the 511 fit. The 511 is the quintessential skinny fit jean, 15 inch bottom opening with enough room in thighs to be comfortable. Ever winter they bring back the good old corduroy jeans; once thought to be the friend of the 90's slacker or hippy college student. The new cords are fashionable and comfortable, something that isn't very common these days.

The cords look and feel like a dream. They are lightweight, small wale (the size of the cord) and very comfortable. I have then in classic khaki (Levi's calls it chinchilla) and revolver (gray). I almost bought the demitasse (brown), but I sure the color was for me and I wear a lot of black tees. If you wanted something a little different, they also come in black (no fancy name) and urban green. I used to wear the green color in the 90's and I have the black 511 trousers. One thing I will tell you is the fit is amazing, only if you get the ones with stretch (1% elastine). The pairs without stretch don't have the same comfort and you will have to size up one. You can wear the chinchilla with the Woodside boot from the previous blog.

Now that is getting cold you need something to keep you warm and don't just have to wear thicker jeans or lined jeans (weird). The best deal I found was at Dillards $36.99 plus tax, or if you can't get to the store Zappos.com has 3 colors for the same price with next shipping free; I am not sure if this is for everything. There is always Levis.com, you just have to wait for the right coupon. Winter is creeping upon us, let's not get caught with our pants down!

WeSC Balker Fleece Jacket

In the last year or two the fashion world has seen the comeback of the letterman jackets. You have probably seen these at your local high school, usually worn by anyone who has played a varsity sport, (when you make varsity in a sport it's called lettering and you get the school letters) or you can just buy the Jacket. The real letterman jackets are primarily fleece chest with leather sleeves. Enough with the education piece, the WeSC Balker Fleece has the classic letterman jacket feel but doesn't look corny and isn't covered in ridiculous logos.

The Balker comes in 3 colors: medium blue, red port and dark gray melange. They are all great colors, but I think the gray melange is the most versatile color and can be paired up better with lots of different color tees. I do have to say that all the colors are amazing. The left corner holds the WeSC logo, which looks similar to the JL audio symbol. Nothing about this jacket is gaudy or over the top: if you search this type of jacket you will see what I am talking about very quickly.

The best deal you can get on this jacket is from Karmaloop.com. You can use a rep code and save 2o percent off. (mine: jcam1981) They have a unbelievable selection of WeSC and many other sick brands. Shipping isn't too bad and they have quick order process, or you can pick this up a Pac Sun near, you as long as they sell WeSC. So get ready to relive you high school playing, even if they are long gone. You can feel like a champ at heart.
