Hurley 84 Denim

I was first introduced to Hurley denim last year and it was some basic styles, but surprisingly comfortable. I just thought, "hey these aren't high end denim, how good can they be." Well I will tell you, they are up there with the Diesels and Nudie Jeans. They don't cost anywhere in that range, though. I tried on the raw (or close to raw) denim, named dirty dark indigo and the jeans are a slim fit borderline entry level skinny. It's all in the simple details, no crazy fading or holes; just good old dark, stains your whites, denim. There are 11 colors on the Hurley website, ranging from your basics to gray; the one that caught my eye was the greasy. I love any jeans that have been rubbed in dirt or stained with oil or grease; as long as it not over the top or weird. The greasy is a raw denim with a light glossy sheen, with hints of dirt and grime. All the jeans have the standard one blue rivet and very little leather or hardware. The one thing I am not sold on is no back pocket stitching, I am like a little back pocket design; I am not talking about Ed Hardy tiger riding a dragon, pissing fire, just something small and simple.

The fit is your standard slim fit, 16 inch bottom opening with a slim thigh, straight through the knee. Slim jeans are a great transition jeans for guys who can't handle skinny jeans, but are ready to move on from loose jeans. They look great dressed up with blazer and button up or with a simple tee (I recommend the Norman tee, see previous blog). Basically you significant other will love the look of your but in these jeans. All you guys who work out can stop complaining about "all those skinny jeans," and not look like you borrowed your fathers jeans. Do yourself a favor and get these jeans, you will thank me (once you're following me).
