Levi's Cords
When you think Americana, you think Levi's. You may know them for the classic 501 jean and classic jean jackets. They have expanded their fits to all ranges, to please all customer looking for a great fit. With the rise is slimmer jeans Levis has answered with the 511 fit. The 511 is the quintessential skinny fit jean, 15 inch bottom opening with enough room in thighs to be comfortable. Ever winter they bring back the good old corduroy jeans; once thought to be the friend of the 90's slacker or hippy college student. The new cords are fashionable and comfortable, something that isn't very common these days.
The cords look and feel like a dream. They are lightweight, small wale (the size of the cord) and very comfortable. I have then in classic khaki (Levi's calls it chinchilla) and revolver (gray). I almost bought the demitasse (brown), but I sure the color was for me and I wear a lot of black tees. If you wanted something a little different, they also come in black (no fancy name) and urban green. I used to wear the green color in the 90's and I have the black 511 trousers. One thing I will tell you is the fit is amazing, only if you get the ones with stretch (1% elastine). The pairs without stretch don't have the same comfort and you will have to size up one. You can wear the chinchilla with the Woodside boot from the previous blog.
Now that is getting cold you need something to keep you warm and don't just have to wear thicker jeans or lined jeans (weird). The best deal I found was at Dillards $36.99 plus tax, or if you can't get to the store Zappos.com has 3 colors for the same price with next shipping free; I am not sure if this is for everything. There is always Levis.com, you just have to wait for the right coupon. Winter is creeping upon us, let's not get caught with our pants down!
