If you guys haven’t noticed it’s cold outside. It’s probably a lot colder for some of you and that means snow, ice and rock salt. Three things that can ruin your favorite pair of sneaks; also your girl might want to go hiking. You don’t want to wear any old pair of hiking boots or wear a pair of your normal shoe and ruin the shoe. Well Jordan Brand has turned you favorite styles in to all weather boots. They are just like the Nike ACG boots, but they look exactly like the Air Jordan Spiz’ike and 6 rings. The winterized version have thicker soles, more water repellent material and the traditional round laces. I know I usually cover three styles, but the Air Jordan Winterized only have two styles so far.
Air Jordan Winterized 6 Rings
I am not a huge fan of the regular Air Jordan 6 Rings, but when they became winterized I like what I see. The grey suede base is really complimented by the pink and blue accents. I have to say, I am a sucker for the round laces on the ACG shoes. Talk about hiking in style, these look way better than any other winter boots on the market right now. You know they are going to be comfortable because they are Jordan’s. The 6 rings do come in a tan color, brown and black; the cool grey model is the best of the bunch. This colorway drops on the 10th of January, 2011 so there is still some time to save up the $160. You shouldn’t be afraid to have some style even when the weather is at it’s worst.
Air Jordan Winterized Spiz’ike
The Spiz’ike is the other winterized Jordan Brand shoe. I would have say this is the more grittier version of the winterized shoes. It doesn’t have as much flash as the 6 rings, but it has a fashionable ruggedness not seen in most winter boot. The Spiz’ike is combination of 6 different Jordan and the tongue pays homage to Spike Lee’s character Mars Blackmon, the cut outs look very similar to the glasses he wears. The colors of the Winterized are a bit more like fall colors. The darker red and the deeper blues mixed with a darker grey; these are like the leaves changing color. The represent Fall much better then the 6 rings. As you know I am a sucker for the visible air bag and the tread look super grippy, which is what you want when walking around ice patches. You can pick these up for around $130 at most of you shoe retailers.
Even if you live in a place where there is no snow and ice, it’s nice to have pair of boots that look like the belong in the winter. I know most people won’t spend the money on some hardcore winter boots, but that is because most people won’t take the time to find a great pair of boots. It’s not often that you find a pair of boots that have both style and functionality. Even when the winter brings the worst weather you can be prepared to rep the Jordan brand and not damage your Space Jam’s. Even Michael gets the urge to go hiking once in a while.
