Friday Trash Day - Lebron 8 V2 'Christmas'
It's Friday time to take out the trash! Every Friday I going to dig through the internet and bag up the garbage. Today's stinker is the not yet released Nike Lebron 8 V2 'Christmas' edition; coming, like a lump of coal, to stores December 26th. So you can look forward to opening you presents, rooting through all the awesomeness, just to be dissapointed the day after. I you frequent shoe blogs you may have seen these popping up lately. I can usually find somethings about shoes that I like, but these shoes make it so hard to like any part. First off, expect for Jordan shoes, most shoes made for basketball stars are hideous. What can I say I am just not a fan of modern basketball shoes; those from the 80's and 90's are some of the best. These shoes are a whole new level of bad, and not bad in a good way. First off the shoe is red, red, red; I know what your saying "it's a Christmas shoe." Fair enough, but why not make the shoe primarily white and red as the secondary color; I would also go with a darker green for the laces. The shoe looks like someone spilled a can of red paint on a perfectly ugly shoe. Plus the colorway look like a Gucci rip off and have you ever been in a Gucci store, most of their stuff is ugly and expensive: Just like this shoe. That's bring up my next point, who decided shoes should be a thin a pointy as possible; they look like a stretched out Air Max 93. I have problem wearing a Jordan Retro 1 or even the Charles Barkley. I am pretty sure that these shoes are made to increase you mobility and help your game; so then go buy a regular Lebron 8 or Hypermax. Also what is the speckled midsole, if this was an ACG shoe it would look fine, but this is supposed to be a basketball shoe: what's the point? All in all, this shoe is the Grinch that almost stole Christmas, but arrived a day late and no one really cared. Love Lebron or Hate him, who care's because this shoe is a hunch of garbage and now it's time to take out the trash. I hear the truck coming and I must get this to the curb.
