Nike SB Dunk Pro “Denim”

cover

More and more denim covered sneakers are dropping lately.  We had seen grey denim and dark selvage denim, and now we get a mixture.  The newest SB Dunk is covered in dark obsidian/midnight navy denim.  The Dunk also features the new and improved sole and mid sole, that I talked about a while back. It’s a pretty damn good looking shoe, but right now it’s only available in store at UK skate shop Dissent. I’ll keep you posted if and when these drop in the U.S. What do you think of the Nike SB Dunk “Denim?” The rest of the pics after the break.

Nike Challenger

cover

If any more retro shoes are released my head will probably explode.  Not likely, but I am super excited that Nike is dipping back into the 70’s running shoe catalog.  The Challenger is an updated version of the 60’s waffle running shoe and it comes in a grey/blue colorway.  Hopefully there are more of these shoes on the retro horizon.  What do you think of the Challenger retro?  The rest of the pics after the break.

New Balance 576 “Lake District Pack”

cover
What better way to honor your heritage than making a shoe to represent your English factory.  The Lake District Pack was to designed after the New Balance Flimby Factory.  Each shoe is wrapped in leather and all represent the Lake District location.  The shoe are the NB 576, which one of their most popular retro running shoe.  What do you think of the Lake District Pack? The rest of the pics after the break.

Nike Zoom Bruin SB “Mulder”

cover

You may remember my first encounter with the SB Bruin as the shoes that Marty McFly wore in the first Back to the Future. Now they are getting the retro treatment thanks to Richard Mulder; who designed the shoes colors after the LA Dodgers. I wish this shoe was red and white instead of blue and white. What do you think of the SB Bruins colorway the rest of the pics after the break.

adidas Originals Zx 500 Iron/Blue/Yellow

cover

Can we please have more retro running shoes?  adidas Originals is releasing the Zx 500 in a new colorway, iron grey/blue and yellow.  adidas Originals is known for releasing bright colored shoes and that’s exactly what we have here.  You can stop worrying about buying this shoe until it’s March release.  What do you think of the Zx 500?  The rest of the pics after the break.

Hectic x Mita x New Balance MT580BKX

cover

The newest addition to most new shoes is wood grain.  Lot’s of different brands have been experimenting with this pattern. Sometimes is soars and other times it falls flat, but that’s part of experimenting. New Balance partnered with Hectic and Mita on the 580 model.  Their wood grain version looks great on this shoe.  The mix of black/orange and white really compliment the wood grain sole.  The 580 is a little bulkier than I prefer but it still has the perfect vintage running shoe look. What do you think of the New Balance collaboration? The rest of the pics after the break.

Nike Air Pegasus 83' SI

83 4

A vintage running shoe, yes please. The Air Pegasus 83 is a great looking vintage shoe, especially in the concord grape and wolf grey colorway.  It looks like a combination of the Cortez and Waffle shoes. This shoe the reason I have a love for vintage running shoes. These are available at Caliroots right now. What do you think of the Air Pegasus 83? The rest of the pics right after the break.

Nike SB February 2011 Releases

Janoski

Each month Nike SB releases new shoes, colorways and redesigns.  The Dunks, Janoski, V.Rod and P. Rods were all given new colors.  The stand out is the Zoom Omar Salazar with the “Flywire” and the gum sole. What do you think of the February SB releases?  The rest of the pics after the break.

Nike ACG Terra Lunar Vengeance

cover
My three favorite letters ACG.  I am excited that more Lunar series shoes are getting the ACG treatment.  The newest is the Terra Lunar Vengeance; a combination of a street running shoe and a trail running shoe. The colorway is signal red/light grey.  I like how the the used both the lunar sole and the traditional speckled ACG sole.  This is a solid new school running shoe and should be on your own list of shoes to buy. You can pick these up at Asphalt Gold right now. What do you think of the ACG Lunar Vengeance? The rest of the pics after the break.

Nike Sky Force 88’

cover

Through all the new show releases, I am glad to see a classic 80’s basketball shoe getting released.  I remember seeing the Sky Force sale when I was a kid wishing and wanting to possess these shoes. Unfortunately these won’t be available until Summer 2011, so my quest to own these will have to wait. What do you think of the Sky Force 88’? The rest of the pics after the break.

Nike Air Max Pegasus 92

92 4

Have I told you before I like Nike running shoes from the 90’s?  The Nike Air Pegasus 92 is one of the reason’s.  I love the black matte/silver/sangria colorway.  This is just a simple, great looking shoe; a little bit of suede and mesh wrapped up in retro running shoe. What do you think of the retro Pegasus 92? The rest of the pics right after the break.

Nike Air Royal Mid “Baroque”

Cover

My first experience, with the Air Royal Mid, was last year with the patent leather version.  I was contemplating wearing them in my upcoming wedding.  The Royal’s, this year, have been changed a little bit.  Instead of having a perforated swoosh, they chose to use compression molding; creating a raised swoosh. They also swapped out the leather lining for a softer wool lining.  Besides the technical jargon; this shoe is pre aged leather shoe; with all the crack and creases of aged leather. It looks like a shoe that has been handed down from generation to generation.  This is just a great looking shoe.  It’s available now at Canadian boutique Livestock for $155, which is so worth it for these shoes. What do you think of the redesigned Air Royal Mid?  The rest of the pics after the break.

Nike Air Max Penny 2011 Retro Release

cover

I’m glad to the Orlando Magic getting the respect they deserve.  I have been a Magic fan since the team began.  The best days, until now, were with Shaq and Penny.  Penny was one of my favorite players and the guy captured a nation. Those days are over but, his shoes are still a part of sneaker culture. The 1/2 cent is a much loved shoe with sneakerheads; first the eggplant and then the cranberry.  Now the Orlando Magic colorway is getting the retro treatment and I am excited.  We’ll probably see these drop onto shelves in the next few months. What do you think of the Air Max Penny colorway? The rest of the pics after the break.

J. Crew x New Balance 1400

cover

J. Crew is known for collaborating with a plethora of brands.  I have experienced their collaboration with Levi’s and it was a smash hit.  I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about New Balance’s collab, because sometimes shoe collabs can go wrong. Not in this case.  The newest crop of New Balance 1400’s have hit J. Crew and they are perfect for that store.  The 1400 is a straight forward, no frills retro shoe; which goes great with Americana style.  It’s not as bulky as the 574, but maintains that retro feel.  They come in 5 colors; raw steel, pine green, navy, black and rustic orange. So far my favorite is the raw steel and black. What do you think of the J. Crew x New Balance collaboration?  The rest of the pics after the break.

adidas Originals Fortitude “Wood/Aerolime”

brown

I recently posted pics of the “Fortitude” sneakerboot in dark onix and Extra Butter has the same shoes in brown; well they call the colorway wood and aerolime.  I wouldn’t actually describe the color as wood because it’s a little more dark than most wood.  The color is a great color for an outdoor style shoe and the laces look great with the brown and grey base.  What do you think of the new color? The rest of the pics after the break.

2011 Kitsune Lookbook “Brokeback Mountain”

cover

Kitsune is one of those brands that I am just discovering.  Even though winter is wrapping up and spring is on the horizon; French brand Kitsune decided it was time to drop their 2011 Fall/Winter Lookbook.  The collection is inspired by Ang Lee’s film “Brokeback Mountain.”  Well mostly inspired by 60’s west American style; a lot of workwear, heavy coats, plaid and non treated denim.  The denim is the best part; no gloss, no whiskering, just plain old fashion real man denim.  This collection is incredible and I am really excited for 2011 winter.  What do you think of the Kitsune “Brokeback Mountain” collection? The rest of the pics after the break.

New Balance F/W 2011 ML574 Preview

ML574 2
Bring on the retro shoes.  My favorite New Balance, the 574, is getting the hologram treatment. Well just on the tongue but it looks awesome.  Three new styles of 574 have been spotted and we got the preview shots for their fall/winter release. They come in 3 different colors; green/beige, black and blue/grey. Which is you favorite new color of the 574?  Check out the detailed pics after the break.

adidas Originals Decade B-Balls NBA Colors

magic close up

If you are like me then you love your shoes, that support your favorite team, without team logos on the shoes. It’s not that I don’t love the team, but my tastes are just more simple.  Which why these shoes peaked my interests. Three new shoes has popped up on Crooked Tongues with NBA team colors but no team logos on the shoes.  The adidas Originals Decade B-Balls come in three colorways; Magic blue/black/white, Portland Maroon/Grey/Black and Knicks Orange/Blue/White. I love the Magic colorway and the Knick shoe can also be worn if you’re a fan of the Florida Gators.  What do you think of the Decade B-Balls?  Check out the pic after the break.

fragment design x Nike Zoom All Court

fragment 1

I am so glad to see so many simple shoes coming out this year.  By simple, I mean one to two colors on the shoe.  The upcoming collab between fragment design x Nike is actually what I am talking about. The shoes come in 4 different colors; red, green, and black with an all white canvas base.  The shoes look absolutely amazing, but it’s going to be hard to keep these fresh, because they are mostly white canvas.  Which means hard to clean and collects dirt; I have a pair of canvas sweets and they find dirt faster they other fabrics.  I applaud fragment for just putting their logo on the tongue to keeping the shoe simple. Look for these in February at select retailers, expect a limited release.  What do you think of the latest collaboration? Detailed pics right after the break.
