3 New Levi’s Fits

Always on the cutting edge of denim design; Levi’s has released 3 new fits.  The 520 Taper is a slouchy skinny fit. This fit isn’t super innovative, but I am excited to see Levi’s take on this emerging fit.  The Skinny Carpenter is workwear combined with fashion.  I am still not sure of how this one is going to look, but I am willing to give it a try.  The Ex- Girlfriend a satirical take on the popular boyfriend fit for woman. The fit is the exact opposite of the boyfriend fit; it’s an ultra skinny stretch jean.  This is the jean for the guys who find the 510 a little too loose.  I am glad to see 3 very different fits being released and Levi’s seem to be taking a risk with the carpenter and ex-girlfriend fits.  What do you think of the newest Levi’s fits?  The rest of the pics after the break.

adidas Originals Zx 500 Iron/Blue/Yellow

Can we please have more retro running shoes?  adidas Originals is releasing the Zx 500 in a new colorway, iron grey/blue and yellow.  adidas Originals is known for releasing bright colored shoes and that’s exactly what we have here.  You can stop worrying about buying this shoe until it’s March release.  What do you think of the Zx 500?  The rest of the pics after the break.

Our Legacy Spring/Summer 2011 Lookbook

The Swedish brand Our Legacy has released their 2011  Spring/Summer Lookbook entitled “Observation.”  The collection is a call back to the styles of 1980-1981 with a modern spin. Which is only fitting because they started the company in that era. They did a great job combining the past and the present; while keeping with fit of today’s styles and fits.  What do you think of Our Legacy’s 2011 S/S Lookbook? Nike SB February 2011 Releases

Each month Nike SB releases new shoes, colorways and redesigns.  The Dunks, Janoski, V.Rod and P. Rods were all given new colors.  The stand out is the Zoom Omar Salazar with the “Flywire” and the gum sole. What do you think of the February SB releases?  The rest of the pics after the break.

Nike Sky Force 88’

Through all the new show releases, I am glad to see a classic 80’s basketball shoe getting released.  I remember seeing the Sky Force sale when I was a kid wishing and wanting to possess these shoes. WeSC 2011 Spring Campaign

Just like so many brands I am currently wearing, I discovered WeSC last year and was hooked instantly.  The 2011 spring lookbook is out and it doesn’t disappoint. The campaign is full of  different creative people having fun in different settings.  There are some promising pieces in the collection. What do you think of the WeSC collection? Nike Air Max Pegasus 92

Have I told you before I like Nike running shoes from the 90’s?  The Nike Air Pegasus 92 is one of the reason’s.  I love the black matte/silver/sangria colorway.  This is just a simple, great looking shoe; a little bit of suede and mesh wrapped up in retro running shoe. Freshjive 2011 Spring Collection

We just looked at the Freshjive 2011 Spring Lookbook and now we have all the pieces of the new collection.  As we saw from the lookbook, there are lots of tees and tank in some pretty bold prints.  The denim really stands out in the collection.  I especially like the buckle back jeans. Star Wars x adidas Originals Skyline Mid Coruscant

There’s a looming shadow over Coruscant. The stranglehold of Darth Vader threatens the city of Coruscant.  That’s actually the theme of the newest adidas x Star Wars collaboration.  This is the Skyline Mid Coruscant.  The features the skyline backdrop of Coruscant with the hand of Darth Vader threatening to choke the life out of the city. Disney x SOPHNET

I mentioned while reviewing the SOPHNET 2011 Spring/Summer collection that the brand was collaborating with Disney.  Here’s the complete collection which will be available soon. adidas Originals James Bond for David Beckham 2011

Here’s where sports active wear meets high fashion. adidas Originals is once again collaborating with James Bond and David Beckham for 2011.  This collection is all about minimalism and creating a collection for those guys who are transition to wearing high end fashion pieces. Nike Air Royal Mid “Baroque”

My first experience, with the Air Royal Mid, was last year with the patent leather version.  I was contemplating wearing them in my upcoming wedding.  The Royal’s, this year, have been changed a little bit.  Instead of having a perforated swoosh, they chose to use compression molding; creating a raised swoosh. They also swapped out the leather lining for a softer wool lining.  Besides the technical jargon; this shoe is pre aged leather shoe; with all the crack and creases of aged leather. It looks like a shoe that has been handed down from generation to generation.  This is just a great looking shoe.  It’s available now at Canadian boutique Livestock for $155, which is so worth it for these shoes. Nike Air Max Penny 2011 Retro Release

I’m glad to the Orlando Magic getting the respect they deserve.  I have been a Magic fan since the team began.  The best days, until now, were with Shaq and Penny.  Penny was one of my favorite players and the guy captured a nation. Those days are over but, his shoes are still a part of sneaker culture. The 1/2 cent is a much loved shoe with sneakerheads; first the eggplant and then the cranberry.  Now the Orlando Magic colorway is getting the retro treatment and I am excited.  We’ll probably see these drop onto shelves in the next few months. J. Crew x New Balance 1400

J. Crew is known for collaborating with a plethora of brands.  I have experienced their collaboration with Levi’s and it was a smash hit.  I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about New Balance’s collab, because sometimes shoe collabs can go wrong. Not in this case.  The newest crop of New Balance 1400’s have hit J. Crew and they are perfect for that store.  The 1400 is a straight forward, no frills retro shoe; which goes great with Americana style.  It’s not as bulky as the 574, but maintains that retro feel.  They come in 5 colors; raw steel, pine green, navy, black and rustic orange. F.C. Real Bristol 2011 S/S Lookbook

What’s a good way to sell your clothing line?  Tap into the football market and create a fake football club; by football I mean soccer, not American football. F.C. Real Bristol is the third Japanese brand to drop their 2011 S/S lookbook.  F.C.R.B. is also part of SOPHNET, but they make more active clothes with help from Nike.  The line is full of active polos and rugby style shirts, but it’s the workout clothes that really shine.  Instead of hiring models to show off their line, F.C.R.B. uses mannequins.  What do you think of F.C. uniform experiment 2011 S/S Collection

Another Japanese brand is releasing their 2011 Spring and Summer collection lookbook. uniform experiment’s is an off shoot of parent company SOPHNET.  The line is their experimental take on different uniforms; school and navy uniforms.  If definitely more fashion forward line the SOPHNET, but most of it is right in line with the current style.  What do you think of uniform experiment?  The rest of the pics after the break.

Ransom x adidas Originals Valley

For those of you wondering, “what shoes am I going to wear for Easter?”  I have found the shoes for you. Ransom is a frequent adidas collaborator and they have collabed on the Valley Hi many times before this shoe.  This shoe however is one of my favorite of all the Ransom collabs.  Why is it my favorite?  It’s simple yet, the colors they chose work really well with the all white body.  They chose pastel orange and pastel green, and only put those colors on the sole of the shoe. adidas Originals Fortitude “Wood/Aerolime”

I recently posted pics of the “Fortitude” sneakerboot in dark onix and Extra Butter has the same shoes in brown; well they call the colorway wood and aerolime.  I wouldn’t actually describe the color as wood because it’s a little more dark than most wood.  The color is a great color for an outdoor style shoe and the laces look great with the brown and grey base.  What do you think of the new color? It’s Trash Day adidas Originals Jeremy Scott Jumpsuit

It’s Friday, time to take out the trash. Jeremy Scott is known in the sneaker world for creating some of the most amazing shoes ever.  Some say they might be outlandish and Scott makes shoes you can’t regularly wear. I defend that Jeremy Scott produces art disguised as footwear and that everything he makes is amazing.  Well that was until I looked at his 2011 Lookbook and saw the outfit with the “metal holes.” The rest of the story after the break.

2011 Kitsune Lookbook “Brokeback Mountain”

Kitsune is one of those brands that I am just discovering.  Even though winter is wrapping up and spring is on the horizon; French brand Kitsune decided it was time to drop their 2011 Fall/Winter Lookbook.  The collection is inspired by Ang Lee’s film “Brokeback Mountain.”  Well mostly inspired by 60’s west American style; a lot of workwear, heavy coats, plaid and non treated denim.  The denim is the best part; no gloss, no whiskering, just plain old fashion real man denim.  This collection is incredible and I am really excited for 2011 winter.  What do you think of the Kitsune “Brokeback Mountain” collection?
