PORTER x adidas Originals 80’s Superstar

cover
What happens when take a classic adidas shoe and mix is with vintage military styling?  You get a pretty unique shoe.  Many times I have seen zippers on shoes, but it was mostly used as a gimmick.  The Porter x 80’s Superstar is designed after the MA-1 used by pilots.  The shoe is mostly black with orange lining and the zipper seems function to make a laced shoe into a slip on shoe.  I didn’t like this shoe at first glance, but after writing this I have grown to love the shoe as a whole; plus you get a sweet canvas bag for the shoes.  What do you think of the PORTER x adidas Superstar?  The rest of the pics after the break.

Levi’s Chambray by Opening Ceremony

cover

You know you going to get something special or bizarre when you use celebrity photographer Terry Richardson.  That’s exactly what Opening Ceremony’s wanted for their Levi’s collaboration.  Open Ceremony is a frequent collaborator with Levi’s and this time the have done with Japanese fabric chambray.  The collection will feature shirts, jeans and jackets with prices ranging from $175 to $300 at both Levi’s and Opening Ceremony’s online stores. What do you think of Levi’s Chambray by Opening Ceremony? The rest of the pics right after the break.

Vans Vault Sk8 Hi x Taka Hayashi Collection

cover

It’s time to open the Vans Vault again. This time the Vans Vault has collaborated with famed designer Taka Hayashi for a unique and stylish take on a skateboarding shoe.  The three shoes are each wrapped in canvas, leather and suede; which is an unusual choice for for a skateboarding shoe, but I doubt anyone will be skateboarding in these shoes.  What do you think of the Vans x Taka Hayashi collaboration? The rest of the pics after the break.

Star Wars x adidas Originals Skyline Mid Coruscant

cover

There’s a looming shadow over Coruscant. The stranglehold of Darth Vader threatens the city of Coruscant.  That’s actually the theme of the newest adidas x Star Wars collaboration.  This is the Skyline Mid Coruscant.  The features the skyline backdrop of Coruscant with the hand of Darth Vader threatening to choke the life out of the city. These are available right now at The Good Will Out.  What do you think of the adidas Originals Skyline Coruscant? The rest of the pics right after the break.

Disney x SOPHNET

Disney 3
I mentioned while reviewing the SOPHNET 2011 Spring/Summer collection that the brand was collaborating with Disney.  Here’s the complete collection which will be available soon. The focus of the collection is a football (soccer) theme, incorporated with the Disney characters. What do you think of the Disney x SOPHNET collection? The rest of the pics after the break.

J. Crew x New Balance 1400

cover

J. Crew is known for collaborating with a plethora of brands.  I have experienced their collaboration with Levi’s and it was a smash hit.  I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about New Balance’s collab, because sometimes shoe collabs can go wrong. Not in this case.  The newest crop of New Balance 1400’s have hit J. Crew and they are perfect for that store.  The 1400 is a straight forward, no frills retro shoe; which goes great with Americana style.  It’s not as bulky as the 574, but maintains that retro feel.  They come in 5 colors; raw steel, pine green, navy, black and rustic orange. So far my favorite is the raw steel and black. What do you think of the J. Crew x New Balance collaboration?  The rest of the pics after the break.

Ransom x adidas Originals Valley

cover

For those of you wondering, “what shoes am I going to wear for Easter?”  I have found the shoes for you. Ransom is a frequent adidas collaborator and they have collabed on the Valley Hi many times before this shoe.  This shoe however is one of my favorite of all the Ransom collabs.  Why is it my favorite?  It’s simple yet, the colors they chose work really well with the all white body.  They chose pastel orange and pastel green, and only put those colors on the sole of the shoe. Ransom x adidas Originals seem like a winning combination.  What do you think of the Ransom collaboration? The rest of the pics after the break.

It’s Trash Day adidas Originals Jeremy Scott Jumpsuit

js

It’s Friday, time to take out the trash. Jeremy Scott is known in the sneaker world for creating some of the most amazing shoes ever.  Some say they might be outlandish and Scott makes shoes you can’t regularly wear. I defend that Jeremy Scott produces art disguised as footwear and that everything he makes is amazing.  Well that was until I looked at his 2011 Lookbook and saw the outfit with the “metal holes.” The rest of the story after the break.

fragment design x Nike Zoom All Court

fragment 1

I am so glad to see so many simple shoes coming out this year.  By simple, I mean one to two colors on the shoe.  The upcoming collab between fragment design x Nike is actually what I am talking about. The shoes come in 4 different colors; red, green, and black with an all white canvas base.  The shoes look absolutely amazing, but it’s going to be hard to keep these fresh, because they are mostly white canvas.  Which means hard to clean and collects dirt; I have a pair of canvas sweets and they find dirt faster they other fabrics.  I applaud fragment for just putting their logo on the tongue to keeping the shoe simple. Look for these in February at select retailers, expect a limited release.  What do you think of the latest collaboration? Detailed pics right after the break.

Diesel x adidas Originals Collection

diesel x adidas 5

This is a surprising collaboration. Only surprising because Diesel makes shoes.  They don’t make great shoes, so it kind of makes sense.  No matter what the reason, this is one awesome collab.  Diesel chose to collab on 5 different shoe; 2 mid Forums, 2 Stan Smiths and a zx700. The shoes are being offered at Diesel Flagship stores worldwide.  Diesel has added their signature rivets and is using some pretty bold color choices. My favorite so far is the zx700 in black and green and the Forum with the red strap. I am kind of surprised there was no denim covered sneakers; considering Diesel is known for denim.  What do you think of the Diesel x adidas collaboration?  More detailed pics after the break.

adidas Originals Fortitude “Dark Onix”

Fortitude 3
Winter weather can be hard on your kicks and your soul. The main problem is you want to wear your favorite sneaks but you don’t want the crappy weather to ruin your shoes.  Well, why not try a sneaker boot?  It’s the latest craze sweeping the nation. All the durability of boots and the comfort of sneakers. The adidas Originals Fortitude is one of those awesome combos. The Fortitude comes in dark onix, which is great for harsh weather because it’s hard to stain; and look how thick the outer sole, it’s like running shoe. Nice Kicks has these for sale right now for $75 and these are a must have for this season. What do you think of the Fortitude? More detailed pics after the break.

Nike Lunarmax+ Vortex

lunarmax vortex 4

The Lunar Series is the newest Nike running sensation.  I purchased the Lunarglides last year and they are some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. Now Nike has stepped up their game by adding an airbag to the lunar sole mix.  The first colorway to pop up was the varsity purple and black, but it wasn’t until the dark grey and volt that I really got interested.  Also these have been constructed with a hidden seam, part of Nike’s new design standards. I think I have found my newest running shoe.  What do you think of the Lunarmax+ Vortex? More detailed pics after the break.

Kris Van Assche x Eastpak

Kris Van Assche x Eastpak Bags 5

Last night I spotlighted Herschel Supply Co. and today posts have been popping up with high end designers collaborating with regular bag companies.  I would like to think they were reading the blog last night and made these bags overnight.  Either way I am glad to see more great bags coming out this year. Kris Van Assche has decided to collab with well known brand Eastpak with an awesome collection.  These preview shots just popped up on HS.  What do you think of the collab between to very different companies?  More detailed pics after the break.

Bonus Post: Diversitile Nike Dunk Child’s Play

Chucky 3
Florida based design company, Diversitile, has done it again. What did they do the first time?  Remember the Nike Dunk “Freddy Kruger?” They first hit with the unreleased Kruger Dunk for a Nike Horror Pack that was never released.  Diversitile is back in the horror game with the release of these Preview shots for the custom Nike Dunk “Child’s Play” shoe. The shoe is modeled after Chucky, the main protagonist of the “Child’s Play” series. They  really pulled out all the stops when it came to customizing this shoe. The front of the shoe looks like the reconstructed head of Chucky from the “Bride of Chucky.”  The mid and heel are modeled after Chucky’s good guys overalls. Also a little blood splatter mixed in.  The best part is the shoe box; it looks just like the yellow good guys box. I will the let the rest of the pics to do the talking.  What do you think of Diversitile’s latest creation? More detailed pics after the break.

Bodega x Saucony Elite 2011 Spring Preview

jazz 2

Bodega has added a smorgasbord of new Saucony Elite’s to their store and webstore.  The Saucony Elite was designed for small Japanese retailers made of the finest leather, suede and nylon. There are four new colorways of the Shadow 6000 and one the Jazz ‘91. These shoes look amazing. They simple colorways, but they look incredibly high class. The shoes are limited to 300 pairs per colorway and are only sold at Bodega, online and in store. What do you think of the Saucony Elite line? Which pair is your favorite? Check out the full pics after the break.

Nike Sportswear x Steven Alan

Lava 2

My first thought, when I saw these shoes was wow, what an awesome collaboration.  My second thought was, who the heck is Steven Alan.  I thought I knew all the main players in men’s fashion.  I was blown away when I went to the website.  The clothes were preppy, but not pretentious.  Their collab with Nike is nothing short of amazing.  They have collaborated on 4 shoes; the Magna, Lava, Talache Low and Zoom Toki.  They are each different in their own special way.  The Lava has  a more running shoe feel, the Toki looks like a Chukka, the Magna is a hiking style shoe and the Talache Low is a more casual university style shoe. The shoes all drop in the stores and online on January 21. What do you think of the Steven Alan Collaboration?  Which is your favorite shoe?  Check out the rest of the pics after the break.

adidas x Jeremy Scott “Fall 2011 Preview”

Fall 4Fall

Do you know the name Jeremy Scott yet?  Just when you think he’s done and can’t possibly design anything more crazy; he’s bring out the big guns and blows the sneaker world away. These are shots of two new Jeremy Scott sneakers that will be making their debut this fall. I’m going to let the sneakers do the talking. What do you think of the “Fall Preview?” “Which is your favorite? Check out the pics after the break.

adidas Originals x Jeremy Scott “Panda”

panda 4

Jeremy Scott what can’t you do.  We have seen the “Wings.” We have seen the “Teddy.” We have seen the “Fire.” Now let me introduce the “Panda.” Jeremy Scott’s latest sneaker hybrid.  Highsnobiety snapped these pics at Bread and Butter Berlin.  The “Panda” will be available Fall 2011, but I’m pretty sure we will see them sooner on Lil Wayne, just like the “Teddy.” What do you think of the “Panda?” Check out the rest of the pics after the break.

adidas Originals x Jeremy Scott “Fire”

fire 3

Packer Shoes has the Jeremy Scott “Fire” for sale.  You just read about the “Teddy Bear” and these are the other new release the “Fire.”  Again these are not for the faint of heart, but they would be a great conversation starter. They’re actually not as crazy as the “Teddy Bear,” but I would still pick the bear for the win.  What do you think of the Jeremy Scott “Fire?”  Would you wear these shoes?  More pics after the break.
