3 New Levi’s Fits

Always on the cutting edge of denim design; Levi’s has released 3 new fits.  The 520 Taper is a slouchy skinny fit. This fit isn’t super innovative, but I am excited to see Levi’s take on this emerging fit.  The Skinny Carpenter is workwear combined with fashion.  I am still not sure of how this one is going to look, but I am willing to give it a try.  The Ex- Girlfriend a satirical take on the popular boyfriend fit for woman. The fit is the exact opposite of the boyfriend fit; it’s an ultra skinny stretch jean.  This is the jean for the guys who find the 510 a little too loose.  I am glad to see 3 very different fits being released and Levi’s seem to be taking a risk with the carpenter and ex-girlfriend fits.  What do you think of the newest Levi’s fits?  The rest of the pics after the break.

Levi’s Vintage/Made and Crafted “Mt. Rushmore”

Who better then Levi’s to celebrate one of the most impressive creations in United States history.  Mt. Rushmore was constructed from 1927 to 1942 and it took over 700 men to help build the mountain creation.  This line is dedicated to the men and the work outfits they wore while on the job.  The line is loaded with tapered jeans and work style one pocket wovens. Levi’s Chambray by Opening Ceremony

You know you going to get something special or bizarre when you use celebrity photographer Terry Richardson.  That’s exactly what Opening Ceremony’s wanted for their Levi’s collaboration.  Open Ceremony is a frequent collaborator with Levi’s and this time the have done with Japanese fabric chambray.  The collection will feature shirts, jeans and jackets with prices ranging from $175 to $300 at both Levi’s and Opening Ceremony’s online stores. Here comes the shorts

Well these are actually shants or short pants, thank you Eryn.  Even though most places are still being pelted with lots and lots of snow.  The retail world is starting to push out their Spring line and that means shorts. I am not a big fan of short; I would much prefer to wear jeans all year round.  If I do wear shorts, I wear cutoffs.  Either denim or regular pants cut into shorts, with a little roll.  These Levi’s 511 are right in my wheelhouse.  They are super dark denim with a nice thick leg roll.  The shorts are 99% cotton with 1% stretch for a great fit.  These just popped up on Pac Sun’s website for around $49.50.

Levi’s Water<Less Jeans

More and more clothing companies are using organic materials and reducing waste in their factories.  Levi’s has been doing it for a while and now they have added a bevy of water<less styles and fits.  According to the page, Levi’s uses 42 liters of water to dye their jeans and we as people use 21 liters every time we wash our jeans.  This line of jeans can reduce the water usage, to make the jeans, from 28% to 96% depending on the style. The water<less line comes in almost every fit, from 510 to the premium jeans.  You can find these specific jeans on the Levi’s website, you just have to look for the stop sign with a hand inside, that’s the water<less symbol.  I think it great Levi’s is making an effort to save water and help the environment.  I chose 3 styles, 2 are 511 and 1 is a slouch fit called the Calder.  I love the fact that the jeans don’t look any different then the regular jeans.
