Top 5 Shorts

For most of the country it’s time to break out the shorts.  I know some of the readers are still buried in snow, but eventually it will too hot for pants and jeans.  I figured we should get a jump start and check some great styles that you may not have thought about in the past.  Let’s journey into the world of short pants.  The rest of the story after the break.

#5 – Hurley Volley Blocked Shorts

Gone are the days of the super long shorts, the kind that end past your knees.  It time that your wardrobe grows up.  I am not talking about putting on some daisy duke style shorts, just don’t be afraid to show off a little more leg.  The Volley shorts are just the style you want to be wearing.  They look like board shorts but are cool enough to wear to the bar.

#4 – WeSC Ireland Shorts

Just remember colored shorts (and pants) are your friends.  You don’t have to settle for khaki or black shorts when there is a rainbow of colors just waiting to be worn. Take the WeSC Ireland shorts; named for the green color that looks like the rolling countryside of Ireland. It’s probably named Ireland because the shorts are green.  Simple flat front pants are the only kind of short you should be wearing.  No pleats or cargo shorts allowed.

#3 – Obey Truman Shorts

There’s nothing wrong with the traditional khaki shorts.  Why not add something extra to the party.  Cuffing your shorts is becoming as popular as  cuffing your jeans.  The Truman does all the work for you with a different pattern under the khaki.  It’s the lazy man’s fashion shorts.

#2 RVCA Demon Shorts

Thick, vintage shorts are perfect to pull of the college boy look.  If that’s the look you are going for these days.  Vintage shorts have been increasingly popular the last few years and are hopefully replacing the plaid shorts.  They look great with an oxford button up and boat shoes.

#1 – Levi’s Cutoff Shorts

I prefer to cut my own shorts, but sometimes it better if a brand does the work.  That’s what Levi’s is pushing this season.  Cut off shorts started becoming a staple in every young person’s closet last year.  Some people leave them down, while others roll them even higher.  All I know is they look great and are perfect for beating the summer heat.  Now Levi’s has introduced colored pants to the party and they look awesome.  The best part is if the shorts are too long they you can recut them and you’ve got a whole new pair of shorts.
