Sixpack France “Dust to Dust” Collection

Are you looking for a new brand of sick tees to wear?  Well look no further than France! Sixpack France has released an immense amount of tees.  There are parody tee, art tees, political tees and even weird tees.  They have releases pics of 24 tees so far and hopefully there are more coming.  I am salivating looking through all the great shirts and they are all great tees.  Some real stand outs are the “Pink Flag” and “Jazz, Poetry, Drugs” tee.  What do you think of the Sixpack France collection? Grotesk x Carhartt Tees

On the heels of Carhartt’s new collection comes a amazing collaboration with Grotesk.  The collection is all tees designed by artists with a vintage feel.  Each shirt is different and unique, which is a breath of fresh air considering most of the crappy tees some brands are putting out. Spotlight: adidas Originals Blue Collection

This collection of adidas Originals clothing just popped up the internet and I was immediately excited.  I wasn’t even going to spotlight this collection, but I just love it so much.  From what I have read the fit in the clothes is a little more roomier then normal fashion these days, but that is wear fashion is headed. There are 4 items that were announced so far and even a women’s line, which I will not be posting here.  Check out the rest of the post and pics after the break.

Retro Brand Soda Tees

Retro Brand is known for awesome vintage sports tees, but now they have delved into the soda market.  I think is has something to do with the all the retro sodas Pepsi, Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper. Whatever the reason, I love these tees and I want all of them.  More pics after the break.

Jet Cadet Sneak Peak

Jet Cadet is a new brand I have been following.  They are getting ready to release their first line.  I see great things coming out of this brand and if this sneak peak shot is any indication, then I am uber excited. Jordan Brand Technicolor Tee

I am not the biggest fan of most shoe company tees, most are just a walking advertisement for the company.  This tee, however, is a walking art exhibit. The tee is a Technicolor drawing of an Air Jordan III and that’s all.  Most shirts would have an awesome image with the name plastered all over the shirt.  This is just the shoe, it speaks for itself. Spotlight: Amongst Friends

I know I have been making lots of changes to the blog, so here’s one more.  Spotlight will become the new Tuesday and Thursday main post.  You are probably thinking that it’s the same posting as before.  You are right, I just changed the name to “Spotlight.”  Today’s spotlight is on "Amongst Friends,” a relatively new brand. It’s preppy with a little wild side.  I picked out three tees that I absolutely love and probably will pick up.  The tees all have the same theme, a movie theme.  They are photographs of scenes from different movies and movie stars.

First up “The Three Amigos,” quite possibly one of the funniest movies of the 80’s.  Steve Martin, Chevy Chase and Martin Short star as Lucky Day, Dusty Bottoms and Ned Nederlander, three silent film stars hired after a woman sees their film and thinks it’s real.  The movie is great and the shirt captures a great moment, the amigos signature salute.    This is the exact movie I would chose to use on a t-shirt; a little obscure, but people will definitely give you compliments. I really haven’t experienced Amongst Friends in person, but it looks about the same fit and feel as Freshjive. If that’s the case then sign me up as a friend.

Another great 80’s movie “The Blues Brothers.” I am starting to think the designers at Amongst Friends have a serious thing for John Landis; he directed both of these movies.  The Blues Brothers was the epitome of cool in the 80’s; they had the sunglasses, the fedoras and the suits.  They were on a mission from god.  This shirt is great, just a shot of two friends hanging out.  I love photographs on t-shirts, they capture history and when done right they look amazing.  This happens to be one of those great photograph t-shirts.

Ok this one isn’t from a movie, but they are two very funny men. Rodney Dangerfield and Redd Foxx, two comedians who changed the comedy game forever.  Dangerfield with his great one liners and Foxx with raunchy act, when being raunchy wasn’t acceptable.  Two pioneers of comedy just shooting the shit.  What a great image and a great t-shirt.  This shirt come in either black or white, but the black really brings out the photograph. “Hey I get no respect.”

This is only a little of what Amongst Friends has to offer.  I checked out their website and I was blown away.  Lot’s of great buttons up, jackets and hunting style apparel. This is a great brand and with the current outdoor apparel trend this is a great place to find that style.  Amongst Friends is a brand you should keep on you radar. Why can’t we be friends.

Just Do It!

I remember a time when the “Just Do It'” slogan was everywhere.  This slogan started in 1988 and people still know it more than twenty years later.  The tee is slightly updated form the, but looks every bit as cool as the original.  These just dropped on Karmaloop for $25.

Creep Street

I just recently discovered Creep Street Clothing and I have got to say it was love at first sight.  I was looking for a new brand for my boy Aaron (Aaron's blog) and I came across this news and inventive brand.  Let’s be honest most brands have run out of ideas and are just putting out anything as long as their brand name is plastered all over the shirt.  Creep Street has put the art back into tee shirt making.  This is really prevalent when you go to their website, Creep Street, you have got to click on the intro; it’s a great video with 8-bit Nintendo themes telling the two creators origin stories. The website itself is very well made, but still seems new and it’s missing something. I picked 3 shirts from the web store, Chopping Mall.

I saw the first tee and had to post it here.  The Hamburglar is a popular McDonalds hamburger bandit and this tee is a play on that icon.  The rad burglar, who looks like a dishelved rat on this shirt.  I used to love McDonalds as a kid and would always beg for a happy meal and then I grew up and discovered how horrible McD’s is for you. I still love the characters from McDonalds and I am glad when I find a cool tee with these characters.

The store isn’t too large, but all the content is great so they don’t need a ton of tees. Who doesn’t love Disney and their iconic character Mickey?  I prefer my Mickey to be a hatchet carrying, psychopath fresh from killing another one of his characters.  Mickey seems to have the eyes of Jack Skellington  and a weird crooked smile.  How can you not love this tee shirt?  I can’t wait to order this and wear it the next time I am at Universal Studios.

I knew I wanted to review the first two tee shirts, but I just couldn’t decide between all the other shirts.  Then I saw this beauty and I was instantly teleported back to my childhood.  Who doesn’t remember the legendary “Contra” code for infinite live?  I had an Atari system, but my Nintendo system was my first real introduction into hardcore gaming.  I played countless hours of every game and I did beat the original “Legend of Zelda.” This shirt is styled like a 2K by Gingham tee and it’s simple, but has a message that has shaped many of our childhoods.

 

I have yet to try on any of Creep Street tees, but I will be ordering some soon.  I will try to work in an update and let you all know how they fit and feel. Karmaloop has a great selection of Creep Street; actually it’s better the Creep street website. I would buy Creep Street if you are tried of all shit that is sold in all the mall stores these days.  If  you want a tee shirt company with a horror movie feel then Creep Street is ready to cut your insides open and hang you by your entrails.
